Tarragon (Artemisia Dracunculus)

tarragonTarragon (Artemisia Dracunculus) is a medicinal herb with numerous therapeutic properties and health benefits. Tarragon belongs to sunflower family and is a perennial herb with dark green small leaves and yellow blossoms which appear in August. It is believed that tarragon and its medicinal uses originate from cold lands of Siberia, Russia. The first written records of using this medicinal herb are dated back by 500 B.C. Centuries later, tarragon received a great popularity and Europe, and, in particular, was used as an ingredient for appetizers and many dishes of French and other Mediterranean cuisines.
