Hyssop is a perennial plant from mint family, a relative of lavender, catnip, thyme, basil, peppermint, and other very common herbal remedies. It is native to the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, however, nowadays it is cultivated throughout the globe, not only for numerous health benefits of hyssop but also for its decorative properties. The best time for picking up hyssop is the period from June to October, when the herb blossoms with small beautiful blue flowers. Though some species can have the flowers of pink color. (more…)
