Most probably, the plant’s name originates from the name of Virgin Mary, but there are a few theories related to this issue. Beautiful marigold flowers are of cheerful orange color and are being grown for ornamental and decorative purposes in the gardens throughout Europe and the North America, in the warm regions. Pot marigold is an aromatic herbaceous perennial plant growing up to 75-80 cm high. Though marigold can cause allergies in some people, generally this plant is considered safe and free from serious side effects.
